14. album evaluation
Album evaluation
Recently I have been making an album cover and i am going to evaluate what i have done whilst making this album cover.
First I done some album research on R&B album covers and most of the album covers has the artist on the front looking like a chav/gangster of doing something that a gangster will do like walking around a dodgy area late at night.
After I done some research I drew my album cover and back cover i drew a person with a blue and white background and my back cover was a image of a street as the artist is a R&B one and they spend most of their childhood on the streets the name of the artist i have created was mocormcak.
Once I finished the album cover drawings i went onto photo shop to start the practise album cover. Once I started to do photo shop I changed my idea slightly I decided to get a house on fire and have the artist staring at the house because he done it, I chose this is because it tells a story. The tools I used on photo shop were the wand tool this tool gets rid of a part of the image that you don't want a deletes it this was the only tool i used for my front and back cover.
Another thing I changed was the back cover as my front cover looked good I decided to change my back cover I had a burnt down house this is because every good album cover has a link between the front and back cover so i decided to link them. The tools I used for my back cover was the wand tool i used this tool to delete the white background off the copywrite sign. Below this is the wand tool i used.
once i have finished my practice album cover i took my photos i used Aaron as my model of my photo. I put Aaron in a hoodie and made him look up like hes looking at the burning house
Once I had took the photo for my album cover I then put the photo of Aaron in my photoshop album cover. i also used the wand tool for this. Then i printed it off.
Once I printed it off i graded my Album cover and back cover by using these 4 levels.
level 4 = excellent
level 3= proficient
level 2= basic
level 1 = minimal
WWW: The album covers looked good and the photo looked good in the Album cover.
EBI: The album cover would look better if I got a better font. So it made my album cover look more professionally made.
