How music videos make me feel?
At the moment some music videos are quite explicit and can be rude in certain ways, they can show men and women half naked acting moves which I feel is not necessary for the song. This makes me feel annoyed and angry with the artist because it can be watched my all ages and I feel it is inappropriate for the audience and maybe they should only be shown after 10 o/clock. The reason for this would be that the younger audience will be in bed. For example: Robin Thicke Blurred Lines makes me annoyed because I feel he is disrespecting women by having naked women walking around.
There are also music videos that I like and can be shown at any time of day as it is appropriate to its audience and relates to the song. Some are really good and can make you laugh, smile and sing along to the song. For example: Rizzle Kicks, Lost generation video relates to the song and tells the story of how lost our generation is at the moment and how fast we are changing and becoming very different to our parents time.
Other music videos can be quite sad and upsetting as it tells you a sad story that has occurred to the artist or somebody they know. These generally make me feel quiet, thoughtful and upset. For example: Ed Sheeran, Small Bump. This video is set in a hospital while the artist is waiting for his son to be born, but sadly the baby dies.

You also get videos that are just dancing and these tend to make me feel good and want to dance and jump around. For example:  Macalmore, Thirft Shop. This video is all crazy with people dancing in weird clothes.

Why does media produce stereotypes? 26/09/13

Why does media produce Stereotypes?

The reason media use/produce stereotypes is because they want to appeal to a wide target audience (eg Christina Aguilera appealing to men... not the primary audience) to make more money which will make more people to buy the the album.

So the audience can identify with the artist from the social group they are displaying.

So  the audience can link appearance of an artist to stereotypical personality traits this meant that the audience can identify the artist.

Artist or their status can be seen as and people will put them into a social group

case study

Photoshop

Jack Wilsher

I am very happy with my logo as it looks real because  I used the Ravens Wood  colours. I learnt how to use photo shop properly and how to use the layers of my logo to make it look better.  I also learnt how to delete the back ground of the image, so the image I have chosen looks like it's really in your logo. But the tool I used the most was the crop tool, I used this to get rid of the parts of the image that I didn't need.

Media diary

Media Studies: Jack Wilsher

Friday
This morning I woke up to my radio alarm playing Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke.
Once I was dressed and organised I listened to Capital FM on the radio in the kitchen while having my breakfast.
Then I had ten minutes spare, so I used this time to watch Daybreak on the television .
While driving in the car to school I listened to the radio again playing Capital FM and then on my way into the school gates I used my mobile phone to text a friend.
At school I used the laptop in my media studies class to complete the tasks given, I also used the computers in other lessons.
On my way home I used the internet on my phone to check the football news and I used my mobile to call my mum.
Once I got home I used my Ipad to go on You Tube and then my laptop for completing my homework.

Saturday
This morning when I woke up I decided to listen to some music on my ipad, then I went on my Xbox and played Fifa 13 and spoke to some friends through Xbox Live.
Just after lunch I called a friend to see what he was up today and if he wanted to go out.
After being out for a few hours I came home and chilled in front on the T.V. and then went on my ipad looking through You Tube and playing games.

Sunday

Sunday is a chill day for me, so after a big lie in and playing a football match in the afternoon I generally chill in front of the T.V with my ipad on my lap and switch between the both and then off to bed for school on Monday.
